Handyman services, one call
Most homes collect a list of small jobs that never get done because none of them is worth a separate call. Put the whole list in one request and one handyman takes it on in one visit.

What people call about
- A list of small repairs: a sticking door, a loose towel bar, a hole in the drywall, cracked caulk around the tub.
- Things to hang or mount: TVs, shelves, mirrors, curtain rods, blinds, pictures and art.
- Flat-pack furniture to put together, or furniture to anchor to the wall.
- Outside jobs: pressure washing, gutters, a loose fence board, a soft deck board, a torn screen.
- Getting a house ready to sell, rent or move into, where many small fixes add up.
Before the handyman arrives
- Do not open up walls, ceilings or electrical boxes to "have a look" before the visit. Point the handyman at the problem instead.
- Write the list down, with a photo of each job if you can. It makes the estimate faster and more accurate.
- Clear a path to each job and move small valuables out of the way.
What the handyman does
- The handyman goes through the list with you and says which jobs are handyman work and which need a licensed trade.
- A price for the whole list before anything starts, so you can choose what gets done.
- Jobs grouped so one visit covers as much as possible.
- The work area protected and cleaned up afterwards.
- Anything that turns out to need an electrician, plumber or roofer is flagged plainly, not attempted.
South Florida and beyond
South Florida homes are mostly concrete block with stucco and tile, which changes how things are hung, anchored and patched: masonry anchors instead of wood screws, and stucco repairs rather than siding. Elsewhere in the country frame houses with drywall and wood siding are the norm, and the same list is done with different fixings.

Questions people ask
- Can one handyman do my whole list in one visit?
- Usually, if the list is small jobs. Send the whole list with your request and the handyman will say how long it will take and give you the price for everything before starting.
- What does a handyman not do?
- Anything that needs a licensed trade: electrical work such as panels, new circuits, outlets or light fixtures, plumbing beyond a like-for-like fixture swap, gas, roofing and structural work. The handyman will tell you if a job on your list falls into one of those.
- Do I need to buy the materials?
- Either way works. Some people buy the shelf, TV mount or paint themselves; otherwise the handyman can bring or pick up what is needed. Agree it at the estimate.
